Changing the material space

The promise of space age alloys that will change our lives is being realized by a local company called Smarter Alloys that is exploring the potential of smart materials.

Khan set up shop in the city after spending some time at the Velocity Foundry in the Communitech Hub in Kitchener. He found the support and the entrepreneurial spirit of the local high-tech ecosystem so conducive to the work he was doing that he decided to stay in the community after graduation from UW and benefiting from the research opportunities available locally.

 It is starting production at a new advanced manufacturing facility in Waterloo, and expects to double the size of its staff this year.
