CUFTA is Canada’s newest free trade agreement, one that extends our free trade footprint in Eastern Europe. Bilateral trade between Canada and Ukraine is modest at the moment.
CIFTA, by contrast, is one of Canada’s oldest. Canada and Israel have had a free trade agreement in place for nearly 20 years. Since it came into force, our two-way merchandise trade has more than tripled, reaching $1.6 billion last year.
