Something is stirring in Canada’s manufacturing base.
Last month alone, the struggling Canadian manufacturing sector took on 24,900 new employees. Over the past year, the pattern has been getting stronger.
“If they can build on that, if manufacturing can string together a few months of solid gains, then that would be good news for the Canadian economy,” said Benjamin Reitzes, senior economist at BMO Capital Markets.
