Canada’s most advanced prototyping and environmental testing enterprise – celebrated its one-year anniversary yesterday; a year that saw the initiative add new customers to its client roster as well as new, advanced equipment to its prototyping and testing arsenals. Arising out of eight years and millions of dollars of investments by Christie in its own product prototyping and testing, the initiative continues to bring advanced rapid prototyping technologies and environmental testing equipment to a broad audience of designers and manufacturers across Canada.
“Our goal was to open up our world-class infrastructure, under one roof, to support innovation in the Kitchener-Waterloo region and beyond,” said Mark Barfoot, managing director of Hyphen. “Our confidence in finding and meeting a pent-up demand for our services was justified and in addition to aiding the commercial world, we’ve begun to assist the academic world. For example, we have partnered with the University of Waterloo’s 3D Print Centre since June to provide engineering students with access to world-class technology, helping them design, assemble, test and refine products and parts for their projects.”
