Four Waterloo Region entrepreneurs are among the finalists in an annual competition honouring company founders and leaders across the province.
Matt Rendall, co-founder and chief executive officer of Clearpath Robotics of Kitchener. He is nominated in the young entrepreneur category.
George Croft, president and chief executive officer of the Brick Brewing Co. of Kitchener. Croft is nominated in the food and beverage category.
Alex Mustakas, founder, chief executive officer and artistic director of Drayton Entertainment of Cambridge. He is nominated in the media and entertainment category.
John Baker, founder, president and chief executive officer of Desire2Learn of Kitchener. Baker is nominated in the software and technology category.
The four are among 34 nominees in 10 categories announced Thursday in the Ontario Entrepreneur of the Year competition sponsored by the global accounting firm Ernst & Young.
The Ontario winners will be announced at a gala event on Oct. 24. They will go on to compete in the national event on Nov. 27 in Toronto.
